The Best Beachfront Airbnb for Your Holiday in Marbella

Look no further for the perfect Marbella getaway – this beachfront Airbnb has everything you need for your holiday in Marbella

It’s affordable, yet it feels exclusive. It’s eye-catching, yet off the beaten path. It’s comfortable, yet modern and clean. This Airbnb is the total package. Not to mention that it’s ideally located on the Mediterranean sea in southern Spain’s Costa Del Sol region. That’s right, it’s just steps from your backyard to the beach.

The Space

Three floors. Two dreamy balconies. One massive resort-style pool. What more could you need? This Spanish villa has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Two of the rooms face the ocean and have double doors that lead out to balconies where you can watch the sun dip below the Mediterranean each night. The master bedroom makes up the entirety of the third floor, and boasts an incredible bathtub surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and ocean views.

Everything You Need

The first floor includes a fully stocked kitchen with every appliance you’ll need to prepare family style dinners on your extended holiday in Marbella. The large dining table seats six and the living room includes two full sized couches. There is more than enough space to host guests and six people can sleep comfortably in this space.

A floor to ceiling sliding glass door separates the living space from the outdoor patio and gardens, creating a nice flow and providing plenty of natural light. We spent the month of December in this villa and kept the door open all afternoon to embrace a true indoor-outdoor living space (temperatures in December are beautiful, averaging 60-65 degrees). The patio has yet another large and plush couch, a chaise lounge chair, large grill, and dining table for four.

We enjoyed staying in for lunches and dinners equally as much as we enjoyed going out, all thanks to this space. If you’re planning an extended holiday, you likely won’t want to eat out every single meal, and you’ll appreciate staying at a place that makes eating-in an experience all its own.

The Amenities

We’ll say it again for the people in the back. Resort-style pool. Less than 10 steps from the pool deck to the sand. Views of the ocean and the La Concha Mountain beyond.

The outdoor area includes everything from fountains, to built-in stone lounge chairs under the water, to a poolside bar. A large grassy area separates your patio from the pool space, providing privacy and the perfect spot for a morning yoga session or workout. Just outside the gate to the beach you’ll find a walking path that connects the various other apartments, villas, hotels, and restaurants nearby. Set out for an early morning run along this path and take note of the restaurants within walking distance (see below) so you can venture over for dinner and drinks at sunset.

Luxury Meets Affordability

In truth, this villa boasts luxury amenities. Heated floors, built-in closets and drawers, adjustable lighting in each room to set the mood, and plush bedding. They thought of everything. The rental is located in a gated community with a security checkpoint at the entrance. There’s an additional gate, which you’ll be given an opener for, that leads onto the street shared by the 5 or so other connected properties. You will have private parking (we parked 2 vehicles for the duration of our stay).

Most importantly, this place is clean and uncluttered – so you don’t feel like you’re intruding in someone else’s home, which can sometimes happen with Airbnb stays. There is a full laundry room with washer/dryer combo, and you can find yoga mats and blocks in this area for your use.

Ultimately, the amenities add up to make this villa stand out among all the rest. Whether you’re taking an extended holiday, or just escaping for a few days, you’ll prefer having a place to stay with these features over a hotel for your holiday in Marbella.

The Location

Just like it can be hard to tell a guy’s personality from his Tinder profile, it’s equally difficult to determine which accommodation is in the best location from Airbnb. Location is everything when it comes to planning the perfect trip (as is personality in the perfect guy scenario).

Airbnb makes it difficult to see the precise location of rentals prior to booking to protect the privacy of hosts. In reality, this leaves travelers scouring the reviews and hoping that past visitors mention whether they were walking distance to the desirable spots. Side note: too bad dating apps don’t have reviews sections.

Before any trip, we spend extensive time researching the surrounding area of possible accommodations. Really, there’s nothing worse than booking an affordable Airbnb in a city only to realize upon arrival that you’re 20 minutes outside the center. You’ll end up paying for car services everywhere you go, or facing the prospect of walking miles home at night in an unfamiliar area. We promise to provide you with all the information you need about the surrounding location of any rental property we recommend.

Let’s talk location

In keeping that promise, let’s talk location. This villa is located in Spain’s Costa Del Sol, a region in Andalusia that includes the communities along the coast in the province of Malaga. The area is a mix of residential and resort type buildings, with the beach being the biggest draw to stay in this specific spot.

The villa is located in Estepona (so technically not in Marbella). However, we picked it for its close proximity to Marbella’s downtown area. It’s more relaxing than staying directly in one of the nearby cities, and it’s ideal if you want to be able to touch the sand each day and truly get away. If you only have a day or two to explore the area, we recommend staying right in Marbella’s Old Town and skipping the beach. But if you’re planning the perfect holiday in Marbella, this is a great place to shack up and stay awhile.

From the walking path just outside your backyard, you can reach a few great restaurants. Other than that, you will need a car to drive to all the nearby cities. We chose this spot because it is centrally located between many of the cities we wanted to visit. Below is a list of some of the most travel-worthy cities in the area and their distance from this accommodation.

Restaurants in Walking Distance
Nearby Cities
  • Marbella (20 minute drive)
  • Puerto Banus (15 minute drive)
  • Tarifa (1 hr drive)
  • Ronda (1 hr drive)
  • Malaga (1 hr drive)
  • Frigiliana (1.5 hr drive)
  • Granada (2 hr drive)
  • Seville (2.5 hr drive)

Cities you can swipe left on (i.e. skip): Nerja and downtown Estepona

The Price

In reality, the price of this Airbnb rental will vary depending on the season and length of your stay. It is currently available in December for $273 USD a night including all taxes and fees. The total for a one week stay is $1,915 USD. If six travelers went in on this accommodation together, the price would be $320 each per person for a week. Keep in mind that longer stays are often rewarded with a lower nightly rate on Airbnb, so play around with the month and duration to find the most affordable option.

What’s Missing

Honesty Hour. While we could rave all day about this place, you should be aware of the few drawbacks we encountered. This rental is beautiful in every way, but it’s not located directly IN any of the most well known travel spots (i.e. the cities you likely plan to visit). In truth, we appreciated this because it made us feel more like locals during our extended stay, and afforded us a real escape from city life to come home to each night.

As stated above, plan to stay directly in Marbella if your trip is more of a One Night Stand. But, if you’re getting ready to Go Steady or Settle Down in this beautiful part of Spain, this place is your Perfect Match.
